The City Commission hopes to finally approve transportation impact fees during tonight's commission meeting.

Water, sewer and fire impact fees were already adopted for the new year with no change. Officials say transportation impact fees are bit more complicated.

For the past 3 years, transportation impact fees were 60 percent of the total cost because of additional funding.

With that money no longer available, the city is considering charging the full 100 percent.

How would that impact you? A 1500 square foot home at 60 percent of the total transportation impact fees would cost $3,733 dollars. If the full 100 percent was charged the transportation impact fees would cost an additional $850 dollars.

City officials say they would like to continue to attract business with low fees but would like to be able to have the funds to maintain the city's transportation system. Tonight they hope to find a balance that will allow the city to do both.
