Child dies after falling into Seeley Lake pond

MISSOULA - Authorities say that a four-year-old boy who fell into a Seeley Lake pond Thursday evening has passed away.

Missoula County Sheriff's Office Captain Josh Clark says emergency responders in Seeley Lake were called to an area off Boy Scout Road just after 6 p.m., where the boy was found unconscious in a pond.

Clark says that despite, "valiant life saving efforts," the child was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at a Missoula hospital. The name of the child is not being released pending family notifications, according to Clark.
