The Lincoln Co Sheriff Office confirms a plane believed to be piloted by Stinger Welding, Inc CEO Carl Douglas is missing northeast of Libby.

Sheriff Robe Bowe says they are searching for the plane near Champion Haul Road, 3 miles northeast of Libby.
The plane was due to arrive at the Libby Area airport late Tuesday night, but it did not arrive.
Rescue workers continued the search Wednesday on the mountain where they last saw the GPS beacon.
The National Transportation Safety Board says they have no reports of crashed plane.

We spoke with Stinger Welding CEO Carl Douglas in July in 2011 as his company was planning a major expansion in Libby.
Stinger's Libby fabrication plant initially employed 40 people but got 17-million dollars to create 100 new jobs in a town that had one of the highest unemployment rates in the state.
Back then, Douglas told us the expansion was a perfect fit for Libby.
Stinger Welding Inc. is a fabricator of major steel and bridge components. Carl Douglas said he anticipated an almost six million dollar payroll in Libby.
