HELENA - Carroll College has again ranked number one in the west in the annual U.S. News & World Report regional college rankings.
The college regions are divided by North, South, Midwest and West, and this is the third year in a row the school has been named number one.
The designation has impacted both the number and quality of applicants the school has seen in recent years, according to Carroll College president Tom Evans.
"We've seen actually students that are applying with higher GPAs, higher SAT scores, higher ACT scores. I think that it's attracting even more students that are of a higher caliber."
Carroll College is joined by two other Montana schools on the list: Rocky Mountain College in Billings ranked number 12 and University of Montana-Western in Dillon came in at number 17.
