Car slides into Gallatin River Sunday

A woman and her dog are okay after her car slid into the Gallatin River Sunday morning.

Montana Highway Patrol responded to mile marker 65 on Hwy-191 around 9:30 a.m.

According to officials, the accident occurred when the woman lost control of her Toyota Sienna van and slid down a 20-foot embankment into the river.

The woman was wearing her seatbelt and officials say she was unharmed.

Poor conditions from Saturday's snow are said to be the cause.
