Car fire erupts on MSU Bozeman campus Friday

A fully involved car fire erupted in a vehicle parked near the corner of West Harrison Street and 8th Avenue in Bozeman Friday.

A passerby made the call and reported smoke coming from a vehicle parked outside the dorms on the Montana State University campus.

The caller opened the door and reported fire coming from the center console of the car.

According to Bozeman Fire Chief Kurt Bushnell, most of the belongings in the car, owned by an MSU student, were completely destroyed.

The cause is still under investigation.
