The accused murderer of a Butte man was found guilty by a jury.
34 year old Jeremy Mata is convicted of deliberate homicide for the murder of 64 year old Robert "Chicago Bob" Bajzer.
The prosecution and defense had closing statements earlier today.
The jury deliberated at 1 this afternoon and came back with a verdict around around 4-45 this evening.
Mata's defense attorney Steven Scott declined to comment about the verdict, while prosecuting attorney Samm Cox says hopefully now Bajzer's family can have closure.
Cox says, "It's what we requested of the jury, it's what the evidence dictated. Hopefully now we can provide Mr. Bajzer's family the news and let them have a little piece of mind."
Mata was immediately placed into custody at the Butte-Silver Bow Detention Center.
Prosecuting attorney Samm Cox says he will call Bajzer's daughter in Chicago with the news of the verdict. A pre-sentence investigation is underway. A sentencing hearing has not yet been scheduled.
