Some deployed US Troops go without care packages during the Christmas season and a local salon wants to make sure they're not forgotten.
Jade Hair Studio and Salon is asking that you drop off holiday care packages at their location.
The care packages will be mailed to US troops in Afghanistan.
"They're away from their families and friends during holidays and I think we take that for granted a lot and kind of forget about it," says Shelly Conner, a local esthetician and Jade Hair Studio & Salon employee.
Conner came up with the idea for the salon to participate in Give 2 the Troops, a tax-exempt public charity organization.
Conner's own step-father served overseas in the Navy a few years ago.
Because of this Conner knows how important it is for deployed troops to receive holiday cheer from home.
"A lot of them don't have wives, or girlfriends or family even. Even just a letter, if we could send that over would mean so much to them," she adds.
Conner is following guidelines from Give to the Troops official list of items needed overseas.
Deployed US troops are asking for things like coffee, foot insoles and beef jerky.
The list goes into needed items like small flashlights, linens and iTunes Gift Cards.
Drop off your care packages at Jade Hair Studio and Salon on Main Street in Butte to be mailed overseas.
