BUTTE - Nearly $2,500 will go toward helping victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Last Saturday, more than 50 people participated in the First Annual Love Shouldn't Hurt Fun Run Walk at Stodden Park.
The run was dedicated to Tammy Salle and Tina Schowengerdt. Both are women who passed away in December.
The proceeds will be donated to Safe Space in Butte and Tina's House in Deer Lodge, according to Tammy Wegner, who organized the run. Next year, Wegner wants to dedicate the event to children who suffer from domestic violence.
More than three million reports of child abuse are received by state and local agencies each year, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
