HELENA - Montana Governor-Elect Steve Bullock has extended an invitation to all Montanans to attend his inauguration ceremony on Monday, January 7, at 10:00 a.m. on the North steps of the State Capitol Building.
The inauguration ceremony is held to swear in Gov.-elect Steve Bullock and Lt. Gov.-elect John Walsh. Attorney General-Elect Tim Fox, Secretary of State Linda McCulloch, State Auditor Monica Lindeen, Superintendent of Public Instruction Denise Juneau, and Justice Brian Morris will also be sworn in.
The ceremony will include a 19-gun salute, the oaths of office, remarks by Gov. Schweitzer, Gov.-elect Bullock, an honor song by Grammy Award winning artist Jay Dusty Bull, of the Blackfeet Nation, and a performance from the Central School Choir. The event is open to the public.
There will be an Inaugural Reception from 3:30 - 5:30 in the Capitol rotunda, with the receiving line in the Governor's Reception Room.
The Governor, Lt. Governor and other state officials, including legislative and tribal leadership will attend.
