BUTTE - Governor Steve Bullock discussed the Access Health Montana legislation with staff members at the Community Health Centers in Butte on Thursday.

The proposal will use federal funds to expand the state Medicaid program to individuals living below 138 percent of the federal poverty level.

Bullock says the bill will provide health care to 70,000 more Montana's, and it will create 5,000 more jobs next year.

"It's not just about a community health center," Bullock said. "It's about a small business that sees their insurance rates going up year after year. It's about a community that could always use a few more jobs. It's really about all of Montana."

Bullock expects legislators to start expanding Medicaid next week.
