A Bozeman woman was rescued after she was injured in a horse riding accident near Big Sky over the weekend.
At around 11:22 a.m. Sunday, 911 received a report of an injured woman in the backcountry near Elkhorn Ridge, east of the Red Cliff Campground, according to a news release from the Gallatin County Sheriff's Office.
Personnel from the Gallatin County Sheriff's Office and the Big Sky Division of Gallatin County Search and Rescue responded.
All-terrain-vehicles were used to locate the 67-year-old woman. Responders also requested the assistance of a helicopter due to the condition of the patient and the rough terrain.
The woman, whose name was not released, was flown to the Bozeman Deaconess Hospital.
