BOZEMAN - A Bozeman woman is behind bars accused of assaulting her partner then assaulting a police officer who responded to the incident.
Mary Buckels, 24, is charged with assault on a police officer and partner/family member assault.
At around 6:42 p.m. Sunday, May 19, police were called to the couple's residence for a domestic disturbance call where a dispatcher reported hearing a man yelling "Get off me," "Let go of my hair," court documents state.
When officers got to the home, Buckels swung open the door. A deputy grabbed Buckels' arm, but she pulled back and threw a punch, hitting the deputy in the chin, according to court documents. Buckels then reportedly kicked the deputy in the chest.
Buckels was arrested and taken to the Gallatin County Detention Center where she was tested for alcohol and registered a .127 BAC, according to court documents.
Buckels appeared in Justice Court via video from the Gallatin County Detention Center this morning. Judge Bryan Adams set her bail at $2,500.
