Since Westboro Baptist Church announced plans to protest at Bozeman High School and Montana State, the community has taken to social media and other avenues to voice concerns.
Several Facebook pages have popped up with organized protests against Westboro. One even suggests an "invisible protest" or not showing up at all.
The Westboro Baptist Church protested at a high school in Sioux City, Iowa just two days ago.
According to our Sioux City affiliate, the protests went smoothly on both sides - which is a major concern among protest organizers in Bozeman.
The American Civil Liberties Union is organizing a protest and said Westboro Baptist has the right to do the same.
The ACLU said it's important to respond but do so peacefully.
"If they're going to show up then we need to answer to it in a positive message that shows support for own community," Liz Welch, LGBT Coordinator at ACLU, said. "These are people traveling a long way to share a message of hate and we're right here and we're spreading a message of love and fairness and community."
Tune in to our 10 p.m. broadcast on Wednesday for a closer look at the protests against Westboro and if people believe they will actually show up.
