BOZEMAN - Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport saw its busiest year in 2012.
For the third consecutive year, the airport set an all-time record for number of passengers flying in and out of the airport. In 2012, 867,117 passengers used the airport, an increase of 71,007 passengers or a 8.9% increase from the previous record set in 2011.
Bozeman's airport became the first one in Montana to have non-stop service coast-to-coast when seasonal service to Newark/New York on United was added. Seasonal non-stop service was also added to Portland, Oregon on Alaska Airlines and Oakland, California on Allegiant Air.
A Customs and Border Patrol facility that permits international arriving general aviation aircraft opened at the airport on July 1. More than 50 international arrivals have occurred in the first six months of operation. The project was funded in cooperation with Signature Flight Support and the Yellowstone Club.
Passenger totals in and out by airline brand in 2012 were:
• Delta Air Lines - 332,074
• United Airlines - 261,991
• Frontier Airlines - 98,636
• Alaska Airlines - 93,623
• Allegiant Air - 77,271
• Chartered Airline Flights - 3,522
