The body of a Livingston man who went missing weeks ago has been found.
Brad Spalding's body was found in dense, rugged terrain late last week. Spalding was last seen on June 12 by his mother.
At around 9:30 a.m. Friday, July 5, the Park County Sheriff's Office received a tip from a hiker. A team of search dogs responded and at around 4:05 p.m. they found Spalding's body about one mile from the George Lake Trailhead. It was located well off the main trail, Park County Sheriff Allan Lutes noted in a press release.
The investigation conducted by sheriff's investigators and the coroner's office determined Spalding's death was self-inflicted, the release states.
Groups of officials and volunteers have searched the area for weeks for signs of Spalding.
The sheriff's office released this statement today:
"We appreciate all the assistance from the general public, search volunteers and support agencies during this intensive search effort. We are keeping the Spalding family in our thoughts and prayers."
