Bobcat Freshman Earns National Accolades

BOZEMAN - Montana State Left Tackle John Weidenaar has been named the FCS Freshman of the Week by The Sports Network.

The 6'7'' 267 pound lineman from Manhattan played a significant role in the Bobcats' 55-10 win over North Dakota on Saturday as the offensive line didn't allow a single sack in the entire game. His performance also helped MSU gain a new school record 695 yards including 436 of them on the ground.

The backfield of Montana State also benefited from Weidenaar's play with running backs Cody Kirk and Orenzo Davis finishing with 160 and 145 yards rushing respectively.

Weidenaar has started every game this season for the Cats.
