WEST GLACIER - Glacier National Park got a good dose of snow overnight, with some areas of the park seeing more than a foot of snow by Monday morning, just in time for the Secretary of Transportation's visit.

According to Park spokesperson Denise Germann, the park was fairly dry until Sunday evening's snowstorm.

Park plow crews had their hands full as most of the lower parking lots had 7 to 9 inches of snow covering the ground, and much of it had to be cleared for the transportation secretary's visit.

After all the snow, the day proved to be sunny and nice.
