A Billings woman is in stable condition tonight in a North Dakota hospital the day after sustaining injuries in a car crash that killed her two pregnant daughters.

Marie Jansen, 55, of Billings was driving her GMC Envoy on Interstate 94 just east of Wibaux around 8:30 a.m. on Friday when she lost control of the vehicle and it skidded and rolled south off of the road.

Jansen's two daughters, Desiree Jansen, 21, and Miranda Jansen, 19, were both ejected from the vehicle.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, Desiree died at the scene and Miranda died hours later after being transported to a hospital in Bismarck, North Dakota.

Marie was the only one wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

She sustained serious injuries and was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital in Dickinson, ND.

According to staff at the hospital, Marie is in stable condition and will likely be discharged on Sunday.
