BILLINGS - A 20-year-old Billings man died in a crash early Sunday morning in west Billings.
The Montana Highway Patrol says it happened on South 64th Street West and Laurel Airport Road at around 3:20 a.m.
The man was driving a 2006 Subaru Impreza south on 64th.
Trooper Buck O'Neill says the man was going too fast and did not make the turn from 64th to Laurel Airport.
The car went off the road, down the embankment and into the irrigation ditch.
The Laurel Volunteer Fire Department responded and extracted the man from the vehicle.
Trooper O'Neill says speed was a factor, and alcohol may also have been a factor.
O'Neill says it's not known what the killed the man, the impact of the crash, hypothermia, or drowning.
The man's name has not yet been released.
