BIG SKY - Montana is getting its fair share of snow this season, and Big Sky Resort is reporting a banner year.

But it's more than just great snow attracting visitors to the resort.

Austin Ryan from Jacksonville, Florida has been enjoying seven inches of fresh powder.

"It is all-time. It's epic," he said.

Big Sky is known for its "epic" powder, and now the resort is trying to expand its appeal.

"Of course the snow is the foundation. For the past few years we've added more and more activities," the resort's Chad Jones explained.

Big Sky has added many things, including the zip-line, snowshoeing and shopping. It is trying to offer something for everyone.

Jones says the plan seems to be working, and it's not just the resort that's seeing a payoff. Business has been brisk at nearby places like the Hungry Moose in Big Sky.

"It was a very, very busy holiday season...[and it's] starting to get busy again," Kitty Clemens with the Big Sky Chamber of Commerce said, adding that from she's been hearing, a lot of folks are "having a great season."
Big Sky Resort reports that its busiest day saw just under 6,000 people.
