A Belgrade couple received the shock of lifetime when they learned that their 6-week-old son had a severe heart condition.
Cooper Bolin underwent heart surgery this morning. He has what is known as pulmonary stenosis.
Many newborns are able to heal themselves from a defect such as pulmonary stenosis; that's exactly what Cooper's parents were told, but just two weeks ago they learned that Cooper couldn't heal without surgery.
Pulmonary stenosis usually develops before birth when the tissue that controls the blood flow from your heart to your lungs is abnormally thick creating an obstruction.
A friend of the Bolin family jumped into action last week to help the family with the unexpected costs of the surgery.
After two hours of surgery, Cooper was recovering today. The surgery was successful, which means the family may be able to return home as early as Friday.
An online auction is being held to help Cooper. It takes place from Aug. 1 at 6 p.m. until Aug. 7 at 9 p.m. Click here to learn more.
Money can also be donated at the First Security Bank, PO Box 209, Belgrade, MT 59714. Donations can also be made with credit card or PayPal to giveforward.com/cooper-bolin-benefit-fund.
