BOZEMAN - A Belgrade man, who was wanted on multiple warrants and found over the weekend, is charged with another burglary that happened last week.
Antonio Torres, 21, is accused of helping his sister, Beronica Salas, burglarize a home in the Wagon Wheel Trailer Court in Bozeman last week.
Salas was arrested after a chase with police that ended in her being Tasered. After her arrest, she reportedly told police that her brother, Torres, was also involved in the burglary. Footprints outside the home reportedly matched shoes worn by Torres.
During that burglary, Montana Highway Patrol troopers found a flat screen television, a box for an XBOX 360, a laptop computer and other items with wires still attached in the back of a vehicle driven by Salas, according to court papers. The property matched the items that were reported as being stolen from the residence earlier.
This weekend, Torres was picked up on a warrant for an incident in July when police say he broke into a residence, assaulted a man and stole a semi-automatic pistol after being asked to leave Teaser's in Three Forks for getting into a fight with a female dancer. In that case, Torres reportedly got into an argument with another man after being asked to leave and told the man, "You'll get yours." At around 3 a.m. on July 3, Torres reportedly entered the residence where the man was staying and assaulted the man.
Bail is set at $56,000 for Torres for the July 3 case and $56,000 bail to run concurrently for last week's burglary.
