BELGRADE - Construction on the new Belgrade interchange is expected to break ground as early as August.
On Tuesday, Gallatin County Commissioners approved the $2 million the county is responsible for on the $37.3 million project.
Travelers along Interstate 90 should see very little impact during the first year of construction as work will be focusing on extending Alaska Road north to Frontage Road. Alaska Road will go under both I-90 and the railroad tracks.
Once Alaska road is complete, construction will begin to connect I-90 to that road.
Weather dependent, the project is expected to be complete by the fall of 2015.
