A new fire sparked Monday, burning on the far northwest edge of Gallatin County.

County fire units from Central Valley, Fort Ellis and Manhattan were called to the 400- to 500- acre Bean Fire just after 1 p.m. Monday. The fire is burning on private ground south and east of Toston, in grass and mixed fuels.

No structures were threatened.

Twenty five to 30 people were working the blaze Monday night.

Weather is a concern, with expected growth, with winds in the area reported to be gusting up to 20 miles per hour.
