BOZEMAN - A beacon park is now open in Bozeman's Beall Park for people to practice their avalanche rescue skills.
The park is equipped with three buried transceivers. Users will be able to turn on one, two or all of the transceivers and then use their personal transceiver and probe to locate the buried ones.
The City of Bozeman Parks and Recreation Department and the Friends of the Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center opened the park, which is located in the southeast corner of Beall Park, 415 N. Bozeman Avenue.
Use of the park is free to the public. It is open seven days a week from 9 a.m.to 8 p.m.
