ANACONDA - A registered violent offender from Anaconda says he is guilty for causing a standoff with Dawson County law enforcement.
William Schmidt pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of criminal endangerment in Dawson County District Court yesterday.
Last November, Schmidt reportedly held an Anaconda man at gunpoint, stole his 9 millimeter pistol, money and pick-up truck.
He was found in Dawson County by two Fish, Wildlife and Parks game wardens later that month and a standoff ensued.
A pre-sentence investigation will take place before sentencing can be scheduled in Dawson County.
