ANACONDA- No cases of Pertussis or Whooping Cough have been reported in Silver Bow County, but another case has popped up in Anaconda.
5 people have now been confirmed to carry the illness in Anaconda.
This newest case is in a 13 year old student.
Anaconda Deer Lodge Public Health Department Director Heidi Nielsen says she received a phone call from the state health department last night.
They confirmed that the teenager's test results came back positive for Pertussis.
Nielsen is busy creating a list of people that may have come into contact with that student.
Last summer an isolated Pertussis case prompted several adults to get vaccinated against the illness.
Nielsen says,"Most people have taken a great initiative and have gotten immunized. Last June we had a Pertussis case and so we had a lot of our adult population coming in and getting immunization at that time."
Nielsen says if you or your child is under the weather to please stay home until you see a health care provider to prevent further spread of Pertussis.
