Marysville, Washington, police said that three children who are the subject of an Amber Alert are believed to be with their parents in western Montana, who took them to keep the children from CPS custody.
The children are 9-year-old Kali Drakeford, 8-year-old Ashton Drakeford, and 6-year-old Cursten Drakeford.
The children may be with Ashley Todd, a 29-year-old white woman with brown hair and blue eyes. She is believed to be 5 ft and 5 in, weighing 220 lbs; and Curtis Drakeford, a 33-year-old black man with black hair and brown eyes. He is believed to be 5 ft and 11 in, weighing 240 lbs.
Authorities said they may be traveling in a 1998 Silver Pontiac Grand Am, Washington license AGJ9693.
Detectives said the Drakefords traveled into the city of Deer Lodge, Montana, as late as 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday and believe they are continuing to head eastbound on Interstate 90.
CPS is concerned that the children are in danger because of a history of domestic violence between the parents. Both parents have mutual restraining orders which have been served.
The Amber Alert website states:
CPS and Marysville PD contacted residence on 06-11-12 Mother and children present Father was not present. CPS received call 06-12-12 from a relative in South Carolina advising them Mother had called advising she and the Father were taking the juveniles to South Carolina which would be in violation of custody. CPS made numerous attempts on 06-12-12 to locate the family without success, determining that they are absconding to deny CPS custody of the juveniles. CPS is concerned for the safety of the juveniles due to an investigation of the father striking the children with his fists in 2010. Father was also charged in 2010 with molestation of young children from another relationship. CPS is also concerned that the children are in danger due to a history of domestic violence between the parents, they both have mutual restraining orders which have been served.
