MISSOULA - Another Missoula church has fallen victim to a burglary.

Police were called to Blessed Trinity Church on Eaton Street at around 8:30 a.m. Thursday and arrived to find that several items had been taken and that the inside of the church was also damaged.

This is the sixth church that's been broken into in the Missoula area over the last month. Police are still determining what was taken at Blessed Trinity, and are also assessing the damage done.

Blessed Trinity was also broken into late last month, and cash was taken in that incident.

Missoula Police Detective Sgt. Travis Welsh says it's "hard to say" if the same people are responsible for the rash of church burglaries, but added that it's unusual to see so many churches broken into over such a short time span.

Authorities say all of the churches broken into have had items stolen, and in some cases vandalism has also been reported, most recently at the First Church of The Nazarene on 26th Avenue, where several doors were kicked in and money and food was taken.

Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to call Crimestoppers at (406) 721.4444 or Missoula Police Detective JC Denton at (406) 552.6292.
