BILLINGS- The Shepherd Volunteer Fire Department quickly handled a 150-acre grass fire off of Alkali Creek Road Saturday afternoon.

The Shepherd Fire Department says the ground wire from a power line passing over the land likely caused the fire, which crews had in the mop up stage by 2:45 p.m..

No structures were threatened and the only concern for crews on scene was the high wind speed and how it would affect the fire's movement over a mostly flat terrain.
