One person died and two others were injured in a two-vehicle collision on the Interstate 90 near Warm Springs.
Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Tim Wyckoff said a 26-year-old woman was driving east in a blue Honda Fit when she swerved to miss tire debris that flew up onto her windshield.
She over-corrected and rolled through the median into the westbound lane, hitting a westbound Chevy Equinox.
The woman, who was not wearing a seat-belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Equinox, a man from Germany, was air-lifted to St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula. His female passenger, also from Germany, was treated at a nearby hospital and later released.
Authorities have not yet released the names of any of the people involved.
It is not yet known if alcohol was a factor.
