A young man from Harlem who was booked into the Hill County jail last Thursday died Monday morning at Northern Montana Hospital.

A.J. LongSoldier was arrested in Blaine County for violating terms of his release and was being housed in Hill County.

On Sunday night at around 10:30, a detention officer called for medical assistance and LongSoldier was taken by ambulance to the Northern Montana Hospital. The 18-year old was pronounced dead at around 2:00 Monday morning.

The cause of death is undetermined and the Montana Division of Criminal Investigation and Fergus County Coroner Dick Brown are investigating the case.

LongSoldier is a familiar name to Montana basketball fans. He led Hays-Lodgepole to a state championship in 2007 as a sophomore and was a two-time all-state selection.

He recently graduated from Harlem High School.
