Mayor-elect Winters told KRTV, "I'm surprised. I thought it would be very close. Obviously I'm quite thrilled about it and I think I now have to work to gain the confidence that people have placed in us. Be around the people, find out what we have to do, and do it. I think it was a good run. It was a good ride and I congratulate everybody...Bill (Bronson) and the other people who ran for office. It's just good."
The new mayor and commissioners will be sworn in next January.
