This week, our One Class At A Time feature takes us to Helena Capital High School, in the math class of teacher Bill Pilgeram.
Pilgeram will use the $250 grant for new technology. His classroom is equipped with a new overhead system for computer needs, and he plans to use the money to buy a portable, cordless mouse, called a gyromouse. He'll be able to manipulate the overhead from anywhere in the class.
He also plans to use some of the money to buy a document/image scanner.
Pilgeram said, "With the scanner, then all of a sudden the documents that we would have had to hand out to each kid, we can (instead) overhead and project it in front of the class easier. And we can scan it into the computer and just keep a file instead of paper copies and paper copies for the kids."
KRTV and First Interstate Bank will give away another grant for $250 every Monday here on Montana's News Station.
