The U.S. Department of Agriculture has granted natural disaster designation for Glacier and Teton counties following drought and spring storms that caused widespread production losses.

Farmers and ranchers in the contiguous counties of Cascade, Chouteau, Flathead, Lewis & Clark, Pondera, and Toole will also be eligible to receive assistance through the Farm Service Agency.

In late April, a spring storm dumped snow across North Central Montana, causing livestock losses throughout the region.

Emergency loans are available to eligible producers now. Supplemental aid will also be made available to these counties.

Producers should contact their local Farm Service Agency to see if they're eligible.
