Montana's most famous farmer and baker is branching out into the hospitality business.
The president of Wheat Montana, Dean Folkvord, and his family are purchasing the famed Sacajawea Hotel in Three Forks. He told us the plans call for an upgrade the facility, but Folkvord is promising to keep it's charm and character...and dish out great food.
"We plan on keeping the hotel closed until the restoration's completely finished. That could be sometime in March or April of 2010" Folkvord explained. "The restaurant will be open at that time and we hope it to be one of those great Montana steakhouse's that's got real good high quality steak and a good fare that people can afford, and also want to come back and try it time and time again."
He added that it's no secret they'll be serving their Wheat Montana bread in the restaurant. Folkvord also said that Three Forks is the greatest small town and that they want to make the Sacajawea a real showcase.
The hotel was built by the Milwaukee Railroad back in 1910.
